Evaluating light on 9V cordless drill battery charger stays on and will not allow the battery to charge?
When I place the 9V Sears craftsman cordless battery into the charger the evaluating light stays on and the battery will not take a charge. If I lift the battery out of the hole just a little bit and the evaluating light does not go on then the battery will charge. The problem is that the battery needs to be propped up very carefully and a spacer added to keep the battery from falling completely into the hole and this takes just the right tough. Many times I return to check the battery and the eval light is on and no charge. So I start again. Can the eval system be disabled?

Where can I find NiCD cells to rebuild a cordless drill battery pack myself?
I have a cordless drill with two battery packs that have died. It seems I can’t buy replacement pack any longer as the manufacturer no longer makes the part (or the drill, for that matter).
Each battery pack contains 11 NiCD cells labeled "C, 1300mAh, D3 and C37" (see photo here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sluggo/3356557787 ). A local shop wants EACH to rebuild them—for that price, I could buy a new, fairly high-end drill… But I would prefer to tinker with it myself before I buy a new drill… Anyone know where I might find these cells?
