Cordless Battery Drill Smoking, is it harmful?
I was working with a corless Dewalt Drill (the new one with the pull lock on the tip) When it started to smoke from the battery. I quickly pulled the battery out, but before I did, I inhaled some of the smoke. I popped a new battery in and it smoked too.
Im wondering if anyone really knows if this is harmful, because I dont feel so swell.
Thank you.
It sounds like your drill has a short circuit in it. This would cause excessive heat from the current draw and melt and/or vaporize plastics. A short exposure shouldn’t be too harmful but if you don’t feel well check with your doctor. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
